Laminated Post Columns
Goodon uses their own “pressure laminated” post – one of the strongest in the industry. Posts are anchored with crushed rock which has superior holding power and provides better drainage. Pressure treated lumber is used in all areas that come into contact with the ground. The bottom purlin is sized so that you can backfill on the outside and/or pour a concrete floor on the inside. Pressure treating the under-ground portion of the post ensures that the post and your building will remain healthy and secure for years to come. Our posts are engineered to meet the local codes for whatever building you choose.

- Walls

The walls of the Goodon building are constructed with 2" x 6" strapping, 2' on centre, for extra durability.

- Trusses

We use a pressure laminated post under every rafter and the rafters are notched into the post, giving one of the strongest roof to wall joints in the industry. Only engineered truss systems are used and all strapping is graded 2" x 6" lumber.

- ROOF

Goodons offer white coloured metal for your roof at no extra charge.

Goodons offer 2"x6" 2' on centre—by putting more wood in your building, we give you a stronger building.

- Metal

We use 29 gauge high tensile steel for our buildings. This metal is more rigid and won't bend or crease like soft metal. It's available in a wide variety of colours which are guaranteed against fading for 45 years. Our metal has exceptional spanning properties and spring-like resistance to abuse. With two foot on centre strapping, it has a snow load capacity of 153 lbs/square foot. The sheets feature a weather tight lap design with a unique siphon groove and non-leak drain channel.
All metal is fastened with neoprene washered screws to ensure the metal stays properly fastened and no leakage occurs.

- Ridgelite

Placed right on the peak of your building, the ridge light allows natural light to stream into your building. Ridge lights are clear which means they won't discolour with age and they are polycarbonated.

- Windows

Various sized duropane (double glazed) windows are available, with your choice of sliding or fixed.

- Insulation

All buildings can be insulated to up to R28 for walls and R40 for ceilings. Insulated buildings are metal lined with a vapor barrier. Metal lined walls and ceilings are bright and easy to clean with minimal maintenance (painting not necessary).

- Warranty

Goodon Industries Ltd. gives the following guarantee on your new building:

• The colored metal on walls and roof is guaranteed for 45 years by the manufacturer.
• Cannon Ball hardware is guaranteed for the lifetime of the building by the manufacturer.
• Workmanship is guaranteed for 2 years by Irvin Goodon Industries Ltd. Poles have a 60 year life expectancy.
• Goodon Industries Ltd. guarantees the trusses on your building are built according to the National Farm Building Code. They are designed to withstand the various wind and snow load conditions for your area.
